Four Magical Tips to Ground Your Energy in Urban Environments
I’ve been doing a lot of research on earthing (also known as ‘grounding’), and what I’ve discovered is that the earth works like a gigantic battery. It contains a natural, subtle electrical charge—a special kind of energy that is available to us just by touching the ground! 🌱🦶🏼⚡️
Over ten years of scientific research indicates that your body can be protected and helped by electrically reconnecting with the earth. It can help you feel calmer, more relaxed, and can even make you feel dramatically better just being in your natural state.
Ideally, if you want to sustain the benefits of the earthing experience you’ll need to incorporate this healing practice into your daily routine. Benefits of earthing include reduced inflammation, decreased pain, lower stress levels, and better circulation ❣️ #findyourfooting
PRO-TIP: Sit, stand, or walk on soil, grass, sand, or concrete. These are all conductive surfaces from which your body can draw the earth’s energy. Wood, asphalt, and vinyl are not conductive. 👍🏼

Here are four magical tips on how to practice ‘grounding’ in urban environments such as NYC:
1. Try scheduling regular time to step on the ground in the park or another ‘safe’ patch of earth outside.
2. Eat grounding foods such as root vegetables, which can help your body feel more balanced and literally make you feel more ‘rooted!’
3. Practice mindful breathing. Take a deep belly breath in for seven counts, hold, then release for eleven counts. Repeat for four rounds or more.
4. Establish a routine for self care that includes nature. Take regular trips to gardens, the beach, or even to the park. Take it to the next level by starting a small garden indoors with a few fresh plants in your home to get the benefits without having to worry about today’s social distancing rules. Having any greenery around is a powerful way to bring grounding energy into your life.
